The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) continues to be concerned about the impact of the global spread of coronavirus on vulnerable refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs). We are stepping up our efforts to both prevent and minimize its impact by adapting our programme to existing and new humanitarian needs of the affected communities.

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is committed to preventing and responding to the COVID-19 crisis among refugees, displaced persons and host communities in Latin America. The coronavirus is affecting all people, however we have observed increasingly devastating effects on displaced populations
in particular. It is important that also in this crisis governments assist all populations in need within their borders.

El Consejo Noruego para los Refugiados (NRC) esta comprometido a prevenir y responder a la crisis de COVID-19 en poblaciones refugiadas, las personas desplazadas y las comunidades de acogida en América Latina.

Entre 2016 y 2018, se censaron 1,432 hogares con niños y niñas, recolectando datos de 6.202 personas en el departamento de San Salvador en los municipios de Apopa, Tonacatepeque y Santo Tomás. En 2018, añadimos más preguntas para enfocar el censo y obtener información más precisa sobre los riesgos de protección de los hogares con población desescolarizada. Este informe revela los resultados alcanzados.
Entre 2015 y 2018, se censaron 3,470 hogares con niños y niñas, recolectando datos de 18,308 personas en las ciudades de Tegucigalpa, Choloma y San Pedro Sula. En 2017 y 2018, añadimos más preguntas para enfocar el censo y obtener información más precisa sobre los riesgos de protección de los hogares con población desescolarizada. Este informe revela los resultados alcanzados.
This snapshot analyses the main risks for LGBTI people in the NCA, particularly in the context of criminal violence. It highlights: an overview on access to basic rights; the main agents of persecution; the latest available data on human rights violations; the situation of displaced LGBTI people; and the main actions that states and the humanitarian sector must focus on in order to meet the needs. 2
This snapshot highlights the main barriers preventing access to this fundamental right, particularly in the context of criminal violence and forced displacement. What are the existing vulnerabilities in the housing situation in the NCA? How does criminal violence affect this right? How are States and the humanitarian sector responding to the problem?
This protection snapshot highlights: the risks that children, teachers, schools and communities face; the state and humanitarian responses; and a series of recommendations put forward by a selection of humanitarian organisations working on education in the region. The research focuses on access to public education for children between 6 and 18 years old.
